This year’s Hybrid Co. Conference 2026 took place in my favorite city, Charleston, and it was the kind of week that leaves you feeling energized, inspired, and deeply grateful for the community within photography. There’s something special about returning to a place you love, especially when it’s for an experience that fills your creative cup.
What Is the Hybrid Co Conference?
The Hybrid Co. Conference is a photography education conference designed for photographers who work with both film and digital formats. Hosted annually in destinations across the United States, the conference brings together photographers from around the world for main stage talks, breakout education sessions, styled shoots, and networking opportunities.
The conference focuses on both the creative and business sides of photography. This makes it a valuable experience for both wedding photographers and portrait photographers looking to grow their craft and connect with a supportive community.
My Experience at the Hybrid Conference
This was my first Hybrid, and from the moment I arrived, there was a buzz in the air. So many people to meet, so much to learn! I tried talk to as many people as I could, attend every session possible, and meet with as many vendors as I had time for. It was a whirlwind, but in the best way.
The main stage sessions were thoughtfully curated and full of insight from talented creatives in the industry. There was a lot to take in, but the breakout sessions were where the learning became even more personal. Being able to choose sessions based on what I most wanted to grow in made the experience feel intentional and tailored.
One of my favorite parts of the conference was attending a mastermind with Lauren Fair, whose work I’ve admired for years. Sitting in a small group setting and hearing her perspective on creativity and business was incredibly valuable. Moments like that – a glimpse behind the scenes of artists you respect – is what makes this conference so meaningful.
Another highlight of the Hybrid Co. Conference 2026 was reconnecting with friends I’ve met at past workshops and shoots. Through them, I was also able to meet new friends from across the US and Canada. The photography world can feel big online, but gatherings like this remind me how supportive and collaborative the community really is.
And, of course, it wouldn’t be a photography conference without actually creating. While I was there, I joined a few shoots around Charleston, which gave me the opportunity to experiment with a new camera and push my artistry in new ways. There’s something about photographing in a city as beautiful as Charleston that instantly sparks creativity. I mean the the architecture, the light, the atmosphere, the colors – it’s just magical!
The week ended with a beautiful closing party designed by Detailed Touch Events that felt like the perfect celebration of everything the conference brings together: creativity, connection, and community.

A Morning Couples Session in Downtown Charleston
Before leaving town, I had the chance to meet up with a friend and her husband for a quick photo session around downtown Charleston. We wandered through some of the quiet streets in the early morning light. The city was calm as the sunlight started filtering between the historic buildings.
It was the perfect way to end the trip – slow, relaxed, and creative. The soft morning light in Charleston is always beautiful, and capturing a few moments for friends in such a charming setting made those final hours in the city feel extra special. Check out the images we created here.
A Little Charleston Food Break
No trip to Charleston would be complete without enjoying some incredible food. One of my favorite dinners of the week was at Iron Rose Bar & Restaurant, tucked inside the beautiful The Mills House Hotel. It was the perfect spot to wind down after a full day of learning and shooting. Iron Rose is elegant, cozy, and such a classic Charleston experience.
Mornings, on the other hand, were made for matcha and slow starts at The Hidden House. Their berry matcha and avocado toast was delicious, and the shop was super cute. It was the kind of place where you sit for a bit, chat with friends, and ease into the day before everything at the conference begins.
I also popped into Tinto y Crema after a chilly shoot on the Charleston Pier because I saw an ad for their Dutch pancakes. They were freshly made, warm, and sooo yummy! I added Belgium chocolate, which I highly recommend.

A Creative Reset Going Into 2026
Attending Hybrid Co. Conference 2026 felt especially meaningful this year. After intentionally taking some time to slow down in 2025 while adjusting to motherhood, this conference was exactly the spark I needed going into a new season.
It reminded me how much I love creating, learning, and being surrounded by people who are just as passionate about photography as I am. Stepping back into that creative energy while also embracing this new chapter of life felt incredibly invigorating. I left Charleston feeling inspired, motivated, and excited for everything ahead in 2026.
Final Thoughts on the Hybrid Co. Conference
Overall, Hybrid Co. Conference 2026 was an incredible experience.
