Located on the scenic grounds of Arbor Day Farm in Nebraska City, Nebraska, Lied Lodge offers couples a truly stunning wedding backdrop. The Lodge is a hotel and spa surrounded by lush orchards, towering trees, and charming outdoor spaces, effortlessly blending timeless elegance with tranquil nature. There are multiple ceremony and reception options, and guests can all stay on property. Plus, the grounds have several food and drink options plus a variety of activities for the whole family.
The Dworaks chose the Lied Lodge for their summer wedding for all of these reasons, with the beauty of the property being the main pull. Their wedding was full of light and intentional, heartfelt moments.
Laura was stunning in her gown, and the summer breeze only added to portraits. Matthew’s light gray suit was perfect for the soft color palette of the day. They shared a first look, then relished in the moment by moving into couple portraits. They simply enjoyed being together, which was evident in each image and in the highlight film.
The ceremony took place on the Hazlenut Lawn overlooking the Arbor Day Farm property. Laura descended down the main staircase too meet her mother, who walked her down the aisle. Laura’s father passed away when she was young, and she honored him by a charm in her bouquet. The two then said their vows and exchanged rings, ending the ceremony with the iconic first kiss. They were all smiles as they walked back down the aisle as husband and wife.
While guests moved inside for cocktail hour, the couple met up with their wedding party for some champagne. Of course, they popped and poured it in celebration!
The reception entrances were a perfect reflection of the light-hearted feeling of the day. After a wonderful dinner, Matthew and Laura’s love story was played for all the guests (we’d filmed it with them before the wedding day – such a fun experience for guests!). Then, toasts full of both tears and laughs were given by the maid-of-honor, best man, and mother of the bride, and father of the groom. Finally, the couple opened the dance floor with their first dance.
Matthew and Laura stepped out of the reception for a few minutes to take in the sunset. The sunset was absolutely beautiful, and Lied Lodge lawn was perfect for serene portraits. The couple then joined their family and friends back on the dance floor. The evening ended with a late night snack of nachos (so yummy!).
