Laura leads as creative director and lead photographer, Shayne heads up film, and together we’ve built something around one idea: your story deserves to be told as one, by people who actually care about getting it right.
Our story
The Cuongs Co. got its start back in 2014, when Laura began photographing seniors and families under the name Laura Elizabeth Photography. A year later, she photographed her first wedding, and something clicked. In 2016, Shayne joined the team, and in 2017, as we started planning our own wedding, we noticed a gap in the industry: not enough videographers were working in the style we loved. So we built the team we wished we could have hired. What started as one photographer with a camera has grown into the full team we are today, and along the way we’ve had the privilege of documenting meaningful days for couples, seniors, and families alike, near and far.
Why we do this
We didn’t get into this business to check a box on someone’s vendor list. We got into it because there’s something we genuinely love about standing in a room full of the people who matter most to someone, watching a moment unfold that took months of planning — or years of growing up — and knowing we’re the ones responsible for making sure none of it disappears. The quiet moment before you walk down the aisle. The confidence in a senior’s smile right before the shutter clicks. The way a parent’s face changes watching their kid cross the stage. The toast that makes the whole room lose it. We want all of it — captured candidly, unhurried, in a way that feels like you, not like a template.

How we work together
The Cuongs Co. is an integrated photo and video team, which means you’re not stitching together two separate vendors and hoping their timelines line up. Laura directs the creative vision and photography, Shayne leads the film side, and together they work your day as one team — one set of angles on the still moments, one on the ones that move — so the full story gets told without gaps. We build our coverage around your day, not a contracted number of hours, so you’re never watching the clock, just living it. We take on a limited number of bookings each year on purpose, because dedicating real time to each client matters more to us than filling a calendar. We also bring a photobooth to wedding celebrations, because sometimes the best photos of the night are the ones your guests take themselves.
Our favorite places to work are Lincoln and Omaha, where we’re based, along with Charleston and Utah, though we’ll travel anywhere in the world if your day calls for it.
